Frequently Asked Questions

Should I take the Intermediate or Advanced MOT training?

If you are new to FDOT MOT/TTC training, choosing the correct class depends on your job responsibilities.

  • Intermediate MOT Training is appropriate if you are not responsible for the overall traffic control zone and do not work with temporary barriers or crash cushions.
  • Advanced MOT Training is required if you are responsible for the traffic control zone (Worksite Supervisor), work with temporary barriers or crash cushions, or are a Professional Engineer involved in traffic control planning or supervision.

If you are unsure which class you need, our team is happy to help. Please contact us for guidance before registering.

Is it MOT or TTC?

FDOT has transitioned the terminology from Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) to Temporary Traffic Control (TTC). Both terms refer to the same training and certification requirements.

You may see this training referred to as MOT or TTC, and either term is acceptable when referencing FDOT-approved traffic control training.

What do I need to attend online FDOT MOT training?

To participate in online/virtual FDOT MOT (TTC) training, the following requirements must be met:

  • A computer or laptop with a stable internet connection. NO iPads or Phones are allowed.
  • A working camera and microphone (required for class participation and the exam).
  • A valid state-issued driver’s license, state-issued ID, or passport.
  • Students must present valid identification prior to sitting for the exam.

Identification is used for verification purposes only. Exam results and certification notifications are sent via email. Please ensure your email address is entered correctly.

Refresher Class Requirements (Intermediate or Advanced)

In addition to the above, refresher students must provide:

  • A valid, unexpired MOT/TTC training certificate or card.
How long is my MOT certification valid?

All FDOT MOT/TTC certifications are valid for four (4) years.

To maintain certification, you must complete the appropriate refresher class before your certification expires.

If your certification expires, you will be required to retake the full class.

When will I receive my certificate after completing a class?

Exams may take up to two (2) weeks to process after A&SW Consultants submits results to the MOT Administrator (excluding weekends and holidays).

Once exams are processed and grades are posted, students are notified by the Administrator via email from admin@motadmin.com.

Please ensure your email address is entered correctly during registration, as misspelled emails may prevent certificate delivery.

What is your cancellation and refund policy?

Pre-registration and pre-payment are required for all courses.

Cancellations made at least seven (7) working days prior to the course may be completed without penalty.

Cancellations made outside this window will incur a 50% fee, unless the attendee reschedules for a future class.

No-shows are not eligible for refunds, however rescheduling is permitted at no additional cost.

What happens if I fail the exam?

Most students pass without issue, but if you do not achieve a passing score, A&SW Consultants’ Pay Once Exam Guarantee applies.

  • FDOT requires the class to be retaken if the exam is not passed.
  • With A&SW Consultants, you will not be charged again for the additional training.

Simply contact us, and we will assist with rescheduling.
